Monday December 7th

I've grown to appreciate Mondays and Fridays so much.  It's the day I don't have to be ready to go to work when the other kids head off to school but rather get to come home leisurely and be with Auggie.  Sometimes it means grocery shopping and the like...but today we met Madeline at the park and it was much chillier than I anticipated.

It did not matter to him.

He was SO excited.  I don't know if it was because it was new (Veteran's Memorial) or that he was there or what but it was pure uninhibited joy of a child and sometimes it is the very best medicine for a weary heart.  He ran up to a worker who was changing garbage, "How are you doing today?"

He went up to a little kid who showed up, "What's your name?"  He was enthusiastic and animated...and it reminded me what a pure gift he is.

Campaigners tonight with J.  Finally he's old enough to attend...but on zoom so not quite what I'd want it to be.  We will take it though, we had a great conversation about heaven and what it really is.  I sit in a privileged position to walk with people in faith.  I do miss the volume but I'll take what I can get for now.  :)
