Start of Summer...

Our first full day at Timberwolf Lake is shortly ending with a beautiful sunset over camp.  Today was picturesque and reminds me of what a privilege it is to be here with our family.  Even though Michael is working, it's a different experience.  We are both more at peace, more relaxed and more free.  Thankful for that…

And the freedom began the moment we closed the garage door opener and drove away from 724 Ethan Terrace with our car packed.  It was almost a foreshadowing to what it might feel like when we officially move away.  Our house went on the market yesterday and have already had three showings scheduled.  Seems so crazy in some ways, so bittersweet in others and filled with excitement in yet another way…

I felt my breath slow as we drove away.  We have been SO busy the last five days, packing up boxes, cleaning, packing to be gone…etc.  I had absolutely NO time with the kids.  So we spent our first day driving to Gross Pointe, MI where we crashed with some good friends we met on assignment two years ago.  It was a very nice way to split up the trip…and when we woke up on Friday morning I laid in bed with both Adelyn and Jackson and we giggled for probably ten minutes straight.  It was the SOUND of freedom, of relaxation and of family.  I loved it and I will cherish it…

And then we arrived at TWL.  As we drove, for the last hour of the trip, Jackson asked us to buy him a backhoe.  Not a toy one as a matter of fact.  We told him we didn't have enough money to do that so he called grandpa to request one.  I think he may be just using Grandpa Dan's every now and then…

Today was our first full day.  I decided I want to blog something about every day.  Today was just wonderful to just be here, to get accustomed yet again to this awesome place, to play in the sand, to lay in the fresh cut grass.  Jackson is working on a star charting system and today he earned a (very cheap) little tractor.  It was his prize possession.  There were about ten other prizes to choose from-go figure that's what he chose.

The big news with the little miss is that she has a TOOTH!  We discovered it yesterday, bottom right.  She has been a little 'off' the last 24 hours and I attribute that to the travel and the tooth.  Thank goodness.  Otherwise she continues to be a pure joy.

Well we are already almost sunburned.  Weather was PERFECT today, we are already relaxed and we are already loving the people we are with.  Life is good and this is definitely a slice of heaven on earth.
