Pure Joy |
Well my goal of blogging once a week has fallen a little short! But here I am again. I will not. be. defeated. I'm going to give it another shot!
Should go to show what the last couple of weeks have been like...I've really just committed to relaxing. Edgewood was on Spring Break last week and while I was still working it allowed some good catch up time. I spent some time redoing Jacksons room (still a work in progress) and just found tons of things to do around the house. Not to mention the fact that we have really been living out our 'revolving door' desire. From a small group, to co-workers, to old friends and new friends, to a mother-n-law, my sister and various other people it seems we have just been enjoying time spent in our home with friends.
Among those visitors I had the humble privilege this morning to meet the woman who followed a nudge from God almost 15 years ago to send my husband a bible as he was in the PeaceCorps in Morocco. Little did she know what the Holy Spirit would do with that...and little know as I sat here talking to her how grateful I would be for that one little action that led us together. It was a great visit, she is a vibrant woman of Christ and I felt truly honored to finally meet her...it starts to complete more of Michael's story. I think the puzzle will be complete when we finally go to Morroco and find his friend Mustafa...I'm dreaming about that day. :)
We had another doc appt last week, got to hear the baby's heartbeat and for some reason I left that appt. thinking this child is a boy. We will have to see in three and a half weeks...but the heart beat was on the lower end and something about the conversation with our Doctor just made me think it might be the case. Either was it's just so good to hear that all is well. She said the baby is moving, although I haven't quite felt it yet, I imagine I will soon.
And as always...Jackson just brings pure joy. Seriously, could there be any better blessing in life that watching the world unfold through the eyes of a child? And with the weather, it's a whole new world of discovery. We have taken daily walks, weather permitting, and on Saturday we even managed a trip one of our favorite places, Indian Lake, where we had a picnic and went for a long hike. Feeling the sunshine on our face was unbelievable. Happy Spring to all!

Here are some of the things the J-man has been up to lately:
- Is really into the word STRONG. Everything is big and STRONG. Must be a boy thing. He really likes to accentuate the word too...
- Is pretty strict about prayer. Seriously. We had a new couple over for dinner on Friday night and their 21 month old was sitting on the the mom's lap. He checks as we pray to ensure that EVERYONE has their eye's closed and hands folded...and when she didn't, in the middle of the prayer he yells, "Dad, the baby's not praying!!!" Lol.
- His favorite new question is, "Dad, Mom...(when he has our attention) Whatya doing dad?" Asks it about ten times in a row...last week when I had my fill I did it back to him...after the third time he says, "NO MORE TALKING MOM!"
- Has been LOVING going outside and typically throws a fit when he has to come back in...who can blame him though right?
- One of his new favorite sayings is "Oh boy..."
- Is very much starting to want to play with other kids...we were at the park the other day and he definitely wanted to stay when other kids came. Just such a transition since up to this point he was clueless about who was around him. It's fun to see that come out in a child...
- And we have determined, although not surprisingly, he is an extrovert. He loves people, isn't afraid of anyone, and like us-has enjoyed the last couple of weeks of having people over to our house...it really invigorates him. :)
:) Reading this makes me so happy. Jackson is such a stud and is so much fun to be around. We can't get enough of you Havercamps. Let's be honest...
