5 Months
I can't even believe it. That our little sweetie is almost half a year old! Ahhh!! She is just growing so much and to say it's going fast is an understatement. More about her shortly...
We have been a little busy in this month of January (as I type this it's Feb.) but I'm trying to do a little catch up! Our trip to Florida was PHENOMENAL. Seriously. Phenomenal. We just reconnected as you should when you are married. It's been since Jackson was a year old that we have had that many days together, without kids. We've been away from them separately for long trips but never together and it was HEAVENLY. We seriously need to figure out a way to incorporate that into our yearly routine. We spent long hours together and with friends, catching up with some friends we haven't seen in years and it was totally blessed.
Jackson and Addie did well at mom and dad's, although I think the 'rents were ready for a break! Jackson's obsession with the farm and all things John Deere only grew stronger, not to mention his connection to Grandpa. Now everywhere we go he has to tell the world about his Grandpa's new 8330 John Deere Tractor. (I wonder how many times him and dad practiced that). :) We were driving home tonight and he saw a star, I asked him what he wanted to wish for and he said, "Grandpa and Grandma." That's it. So sweet.
Tonight I took him and Addie to the Y and he was such a good boy. I'm seriously just seeing all this effort in him paying off. The countless times of redirecting/etc have just led us to this little boy who is becoming more well behaved, more patient and more willing to listen. It doesn't mean he is perfect but he has so many good moments. And does he ever bring us joy. There are moments when all I can do is just stare him down and gush with joy at his beauty. What a blessing.
And then we have our little one who turned 5 months this weekend! Holy Cow is time flying by with her. Here is what she has been up to lately:

And then we have our little one who turned 5 months this weekend! Holy Cow is time flying by with her. Here is what she has been up to lately:
- Eating rice cereal! And a lot of it! Last week we started it and Michael called to see if it was okay to just keep giving it to her. She ate FOUR BOWLS! I think she is just a hungry little one-should've known by the size of her thighs. :)
- She tried avocados and is digging those too!
- Rolling all over...sometimes rolls from back to tummy but mostly tummy to back. I put her on the floor a couple of days ago and she ended up under our bed...I need to child proof again!
- LOVES LOVES LOVES her big brother. He makes her laugh more than anyone can and its so stinkin' cute. Can't believe the language they speak to each other already...it's magical.
- Is starting to sleep for longer periods at night. Goes down about 6:30 and sleeps til about 1:00 or 2:00 (especially is she had rice cereal for dinner). Still loves her swaddle and totally self soothes. Put her in bed with swaddle and paci awake, she turns her head to the side and is OUT! Amazing!
- Laughs, coos, screeches and grunts. Loves to hear her voice.
- Takes two naps like clockwork. First one about an hour and a half after she wakes up in the a.m. Second one after lunch.
- Has started to sit in the high chair and loves being up and around like that.
- Did I mention she eats a lot? :)
