Springtime
It's almost here!!!! Slowly, slowly the weather is shifting and we are loving every single minute of it. The kids are actually outside most of the night and we are enjoying the benefits of that.
Auggie John continues to grow, develop and discovery. He's walking like a champ. Within a week of being stable on both feet he was placing basketballs into the kids basketball hoop thus confirming his affection for anything that is the shape of a ball. Proclaiming ball with every sound that comes out of his mouth. He's finally in a rythym of sleeping through the night (albeit days when he wakes up ready to go at 4:00am). He loves to follow his siblings around, eats like a total tank, still isn't quite eating milk. Hearing him laugh is probably my favorite sound. He is just a complete joy. He also has a pretty observant look about him. Like he's always taking the world in. He has mastered crawling up steps, loves to be outside, is starting to enjoy books more. His language includes ball, mama (which he also refers to when wanting Michael.). He's started giving hugs (melt me) and kisses, fist bumps, waves bye-bye and calls every animal he sees, "Do-Do."
Asher is finishing out his year of preschool and really loving it, he's making friends will Will and Chase. He's mastered his electric scooter and after moving him and Jackson into a room together they really have gotten in a groove with playing together, mostly outside. He continues to be a source of silliness and fun, showcasing a sweet sensitive soul that can easily have his feelings hurt. Nevertheless, life with Asher is nothing short of interesting and fun. There is always laughter with him around (cue the "babies are from China" story?) ...
Addie Rose (and Asher) are diligently getting ready for the Awana Pinewood Derby. Addie painted the car herself and is pretty darn proud of it. Asher has made an alligator. Awana has been an amazing year for these kiddos, love watching their excitement about learning Scripture. Addie Rose continues to be a little home body...loving time coloring and reading. She is headed to Horse Camp and Camp Shalom this summer and counting down the days. She too has mastered riding the bike and joined me on a run or two on the bike trail, riding beside me and keeping me company. She's an EXCELLENT big sister, consistently using her helper skills to take care of Auggie. She recently wrote Jesus a note asking for a baby sister. <3 p="">
And Jackson has started baseball and is loving every minute of it, turns out he is pretty decent too. This boy who seemed to grow up over night is riding his bike to practice, working on a Stem Fair project, waking up every morning at 5 am to read the latest book he is into (thanks to a run with Harry Potter). He continues to just be our little renaissance man, one minute obsessed with wanting to play catch, the next learning to play chess, mastering a song on the piano or cutting some wood project on his lathe.
And all is well in the rest of the house. Right now Michael's job has slown down a little bit in comparison to the busiest season he's probably experienced so we are back into some rythyms and routine. What a gift. 3>
