Where do you even start with a post when I haven't blogged about our family life in a year. Oye. But as we start soon this season of Advent I'm feeling the need to slow down and breathe. I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with photo editing...and I'm feeling the resistance in my heart that is just aching for a slower pace. I hope this is a turning point...
This has been an incredible year. The best news of all is Baby Havercamp #4 set to arrive in about 10 weeks. I still can't quite believe I'm pregnant. If it weren't for the huge belly, soreness and SUPER active baby I'd even doubt it. It's been such a prayer and hope for so long to grow our family that actually being so close to the addition of number four seems so surreal. What a gift.
The kids are just awesome. Jackson is into piano and voice and he played soccer this year-although football is his true desire. He is responsible, helpful, articulate, intelligent and just the all-around American boy. So thankful for him.
Addie Rose has loved kindergarten and make a debut in Awana this year. Watching that coloring obsessed girl color in a bible and learn scripture passages is just the most amazing thing to melt my heart. She's an incredible nurturer and absolutely loves taking care of littles. She'll be awesome with this baby.
Asher is full of life and spunk, humor and sweetness. His love language is DEFINITELY physical touch. Marked mostly by his mid night wake up requests to 'snuggle with him' (how can I say no to that) and for daddy to play tickle monster on the ground with him. This kid has personality. Makes so many people smile and yet he has a mind of his own. He's grown up so much this year.
Michael and I have dug into working on our marriage and growth. He the constant spiritual guide I find myself changing so much from the inside out in how we communicate and how we relate to each other. I have so much to be thankful for in him and his consistent commitment to the Lord. What a total gift.
And December is here. I'm looking forward to less nighttime meetings, more relational time with friends, lots of family nights and adventures...just time in the real presence of each other and in the Lord. My December daily will be updates mostly but just wanted to get the overall feel of the year out here before another year comes and goes.
Meanwhile..just finished Wyldlife club (which is definitely called Wyldlife for a reason). It was chaotic, crazy and epic. 50+ kiddos there tonight...unreal. I'm looking forward to only one photo shoot this weekend and Christmas preparations with my family tomorrow. Until then. :)
