Four Months later
Yeah I'm a little behind…but at least I'm here. 11:30 at night…this could be a little rough. But I GOTTA get this in!!
We've been TOTALLY enjoying summer lately. Kids are living for the freedom of outdoors, no school, play-dates and imagination. It's really fun to watch. In three days we leave for Alaska and I'm not quite prepared but really excited to have some time with the hubs, not to mention thankful to family for having our kiddos for 10 DAYS!!!
So here is a little update:
Asher is growing like a weed. Hit the doctor last week for stitches after falling on a bookshelf. Only two above the eye. Could have been a LOT worse. However, it did take four people to hold him down for the stitches. One nurse commented on how strong he was. That's what 31 pounds of solid beefcakes will get yah. ;) He is off the bottle officially YESTERDAY. He isn't really a fan. Or should I call it his 'nigh night' because that's how he has lovingly referred to it for the past few months. He continues to be a typical boy. Always wanting to be outside, eating mud, following his big brother around, playing rough and tumbly and never stopping-Asher keeps us going. Life is not dull with this kid. He's totally content to wonder, very observant and much smarter than I give him credit for. Oh and he has a fetish for toothbrushes. Mostly ones that have recently been used. We find them all over the house.
Addie Rose is growing more and more into this sweet and sensitive little girl we have seen glimpses of. She has had a blast this summer attending Princess Dance Camp and swim lessons along with spending some solo time with Grandma Peg. She's LOVES to color and spent about three hours this morning making colored pictures for various people in our family. She's still got a strong backbone but melts us multiple times a day when she comes up out of nowhere and says, "I love you mommy (or daddy)." And she still sneaks into our bed every night. :) And her fetish is needing to say goodbye to people outside when they are leaving…over and over…"bye, bye bye bye bye bye bye bye…"
And Jackson. Always keeping life interesting. He's done Fun in Sun for a week, swim lessons, golf camp and spent hours upon hours in the backyard garden which is now transformed to a farm. He still gravitates towards remote control objects and fixing things but loves time on his motorcycle and gator. And we will often find him hitting his clubs in the back yard. Golf is definitely sticking for this kid. Michael was prepping Jackson for some racquetball play in the morning and said to J, "Yeah we will get up early to play…" To which Jackson responds and says, "Yeah I know like 20a.m." Just cute!
We have been packing in the summer things but also just enjoying a lot of time in our yard and with friends. Have hit the drive in movie, Adventureland, Chicago to see friends, had lots of bike rides and walks (which we are loving), went camping with friends, rode horses thanks to our friend Tember, and had our nieces visit for a little bit. Michael and I have also found a new love of running which has kept us both motivated for health.
More pics and stories to come but in the meantime here are some pics to keep us updated:
