A little update on us

Well little man is 13 months and up to a lot.  On Feb. 6th it was confirmed that Asher had YET another ear infection.  I texted our friend who works at his clinic who referred me to the ENT.  We were scheduled for Wed Feb. 18th and by Friday Feb. 20th…Asher had tubes in his ears.  I had no fears or concerns about this surgery…I knew it would change things.  Sure enough-he is a different man.

I read that the fluid in their ears throws off their equilibrium and that can cause them not to be able to walk.  One week to the day after his surgery he is cruising EVERYWHERE…and we caught him on video discovering his voice the day of the surgery (the fluid effects their hearing) with complete joy.  This kid is finally free from pain, sleeping through the night (Praise God and thanks to mom and Michael for letting him cry it out)…and loving life.  He's finally into everything (and I say that with thanksgiving).  I think he was in so much pain before that exploring wasn't even an interest to him.  He's also saying more words, dada, Cooper, momma, nigh nigh, bah bah (bottle)…mostly right now he is just screaming with delight so we are trying to curb that a little bit.

So tubes have literally changed our life.  :)

Addie Rose is really growing up.  She loves to sing and dance.  She has made up her own little language and speaks it often.  She loves to read, watch tv (which we try to control) and just laugh.  This girl has the cutest and most contagious laugh.  I hope she never looses that.  She is big on dancing to Roar by Katy Perry right now but she calls it Dancing in the fire and always requests the song Happy in the car.  She LOVES LOVES LOVES school and Charlie Jo and Hope are her close friends.  She had her first birthday party/party with her teachers a week ago and loved it.  She also spent some extended time at Grandma and Grandpas and really enjoyed hanging with her cousin Norah and got attached to Grandma Peg.

Jackson continues to grow fast.  He's currently taking an ice skating class and minus a big fall the first day he loves it.  :)  We signed him up for dek hockey this spring so we will see how that goes.  He is the same energetic, sweet and loving boy he always has been.  Last night at dinner I made a meal that didn't go over very well.  He took his polite bite but didn't really like the chicken so I just said how frustrated I was that I had planned this meal and no one ate it…he leaned over and whispered to me, "Mom, I really love everything else you made…"  Such a sweetheart and so attune to emotions.  He definitely is the one that the other two look up to.

And Michael is well..just got back from a road tour speaking event in Kansas City…it went super well but I know he is glad to be home.  Gearing up to finish his dissertation and I'm counting down the days for him so it's not hanging over his head anymore.  I know it's stressful.

I'm okay.  I'm up and down…ready for spring…ready for something new and alive….ready for sunshine.  Amazing how these dreary days get the best of me.  I find myself just coasting a little bit right now and I don't want to be there…I want to be living with passion and boldness…praying for the strength and spark to do so.  :)
