Four months
Well do we ever have some updates in our family??!! It's only been a few months since I've posted one-I think we are long overdue. Geez.
Let's start with our littlest man, Asher. He turned a whopping four months on the 25th. Seems to be flying by-so much I can't keep up blogging about him! I was waiting for his four month appointment so I'd have some stats so here goes. He's weighing in at 16 lbs 10 ounces which is 82% and 25.5 inches which is 72%. He is smiley almost all the time. A totally different kid from two months ago. He is a total flirt, loves to be around people and really wants to hear you coo and talk to him. He loves his siblings, they can totally make him laugh at a moments notice.
A week ago Friday (May 23rd) he rolled over again for the second official time and did it repeatedly which started a trend. We were at a friends house so it was a fun milestone! (Back to tummy) Now he is in the phase where he gets frustrated on his tummy so I'm sure he'll be rolling back soon.
He's a drool monster!! All. the. time. he is covered in drool. We change his clothes numerous times a day...but he isn't spitting up as much as he used to which is a nice break.
Overall his days are good. He just goes with the flow. He sort of has to because he goes to work with me (where is he totally loved on) and he is pretty flexible. He is a huge fan of his sound machine if he is sleeping so we are thankful we have a portable one. The nights are a little touch and go. He is usually in bed by 6:30 or 7:00pm and sleeps until about 11 or 12. But then he can be up as many as three or four times from there. We will be ready for rest filled nights!!!
Jackson has now officially lost another tooth (on Sunday May 25th). He is a total stud. No other way to put it. Lately I have been taking him with me to garage sales (I must admit I'm a bit addicted). Well out of the blue last night he says to me, "Mom, I think you are making me be a little materialistic. We keep buying all this stuff at garage sales (I let him get a toy or two) and I don't need all that stuff." Wow. Alrighty kid. Thanks for calling me to the table-I need that! So he says, "I need to get rid of some of my stuff." He proceeds to march over and grab some toys he no longer wants. Amazing. Love him.
He's finished his year of Pre-K and will be ready for kindergarden in the fall. He just loves life. Tonight I had him bike next to me while I ran a few miles. I was amazed at how much better it was with him there. Michael says it to him all the time...life is just more fun with him in it. He's in a little camp at school this week along with a golf camp and he is totally digging it! So much fun to see. He's also been playing baseball this spring and enjoying that. But honestly, his favorite thing to do is ride his new gator which he got from grandma and grandpa (from a garage sale) as an early birthday gift. Too cute.
And last but definitely not least is our little miss Addie Rose who happens to be back in Carroll for another week this week. She is OFFICIALLY POTTY TRAINED!!! I can't even believe it. Last week I told her the diaper fairy was coming to take her diapers to which she informed me that she would wear Asher's. Smart little cookie. But we pretty much implemented that and she took to it! It took a day or two but it finally clicked and from what Grandma Peg says she is potty trained! Praise God. Addie Rose continues to be our little princess. Life with her is...interesting. She wears on my patience but she melts my heart. Thank goodness for that. I'm so in love with that little girl...so in love.
All in all life at the 'Camps is moving at a fast pace...but we are loving it. We are blessed by the community we have around us, our family, our friends, our work...God's grace is with us day by day and I feel like I'm doing a better job of being aware of that movement. My heart's desire these days is to just disconnect and be more present to my family...thus the lack of blogging. Someday I won't regret it...but I will remember the moments when I really soak them in. :) Time is ticking...and I've got children who won't stay little so these blog entries will be fewer and farther between...and that's alright. I'm right where I need to be. :)
