18 months
A year and a half. Holy cow. Time is flying. This little girl is definitely a character! She keeps me going most days. She is such a love and even at the difficult moments where she is impatient or doesn't have the words to say what she wants-I'm totally smitten by this little girl. Here is some of what she has been up to lately....
- Adding more words to her vocabulary. But only a few. Says dadda, momma, night night, bye bye and signs please, thank you and more. Her doctor said that speech therapists count the sign language words so that put me at ease. :) This girl knows how to communicate even if she doesn't have a large vocabulary.
- Has learned to give hugs and kisses. Get multiple ones everyday. She gets a huge smile on her face when she goes in for the hug. So endearing.
- Scoots her behind in your lap with a book to let you read it to her. She loves to just turn the pages over and over again.
- Took her to her 18 month appt and found out she still has an ear infection...turns out that she may have had this for awhile. Maybe that explains the moodiness?
- Loves to spin in circles. I always have to bust her and tell her to stop of she tumbles...
- Loves to be covered at night. Give her paci and teddy and tell her to lay down so I can cover you. She flops down and gets covered and goes to sleep. So nice and easy.
- Has an incredibly endearing smile.
- Is a mommas girl. Seriously she will stand at my feet all day long and beg for me to just hold her. This is when we butt heads a little bit...
- Has started to take time aways in her crib. Is learning this too...when she is whining or not listening I say, "Addie do you want to go to your crib for a time away?" And she fervently shakes her head no. :)
- Had a few encounters with her brother this past week. First he cleaned her and her room with baby powder. That was interesting. Then he used stain remover...and then he tried to give her infants tylenol. Can we say time to start locking things up more tightly?
Jackson has become such a polite little boy. He clears the table after he eats without us asking. He is so apologetic. His teachers said at his conferences that he is the quickest boy in the class to say he is sorry. He asked if God was flat in the bread at communion. :) His new name is Parker (not Jackson) because of Spiderman. At church the other day he told a man that he was "quite a good shaker" after the sign of peace...he just cracks us up. Not a dull moment with this kiddo. Lately he has been in to Spiderman, his hot wheel set and Spiderman. Did I mention Spiderman? :)
Tomorrow morning we leave for vacation to Florida...hoping I blog more then. Can't believe how fast time is flying by with them...or how much I love them. SO incredibly thankful for this time together as a family to just get away, enjoy some sun and be together. It is going to be great!!!
