16 months

It's been a whirlwind but my goal today is to blog on Addie's actual celebration of being 16 months old and not two days later!  We'll see if I actually get this posted today!

This little girl has been a lot of fun lately.  Christmas was a blast with her.  My favorite was watching her walk over to the tree at my parents house, grab some random present, hike herself up in her little kid's leather chair and start tearing.  She thought she was a queen (living up to that name of hers).  It was really cute.

She's holding her own.  In fact, we had to start implementing the one minute time out in the chair with me holding her.  She is not a fan.  But all it takes for her to listen (most of the time) is mentioning time out and she gets it.  I think she may be a bit of a rules follower.

Here is what she is doing this days:

  • Saying a lot more words.  Jackson.  Cass.  Dillon.  Kenzie.  Alrighty, it might not sound like the actual names but she was trying to make the sounds.  So cute.  Definitely says the same words as before (night night, teddy, daddy, momma, bye bye)
  • Her new favorite word is HOT.  She holds her mouth open really wide and just says Hhhhhh... :)  We got a chuckle out of that one.
  • Loves her Teddy, Jackson and Cooper a LOT.  Pets Cooper, loves on him.
  • Has now conquered the stairs (up and down).
  • Eats anything in sight.
  • Is a snuggler.  She will grab a book and nestle into your lap waiting for you to read it.
  • Became much more comfortable and less of a momma's girl after Christmas.  Thank Goodness.  I have found her various times this week, upstairs banging on Michael's office door.  She loves getting hugs from him.
  • Takes a good 2.5-3.5 hour nap and sleeps from about 7pm to 7am.  Pretty consistently.
  • Is finally off the bottle.  But not the paci for bedtime yet.  One step at a time.  :)
  • Still has a screech and a raspy laugh.  It's so funny.  I wish I could box that sound up and hold onto it when I feel low.  Two nights ago Jackson and her were trying to go to sleep and having a little too much fun chucking things back and forth to each other in their room.  They were laughing hysterically.  I just sat outside their room on the floor...trying to memorize the sound of their laughter.  Greatest sound ever.  :)
These past few months I was so busy with tmh that I didn't do many photos of the kids.  I regret that a little bit.  We got that camera as a tool for capturing our kids lives.  So one of my new years resolutions is to do a picture a day (the 365 project).  I'm not sure how I'm going to document it but I am definitely enjoying trying to get creative with them.  Here is the result of some of that effort with Addie Rose.  Happy 16months my precious child.
