The fourth year
Wow does time fly. I'll never forget a friend of mine having the realization that she had a four year old son when she was getting ready for his birthday party. It just sounds grown up. He's not a toddler, he's not a young man...he is definitely a little boy.
And here we are. Our little one is becoming a boy. Who am I kidding he IS a boy. He just cracks me up. The best way to describe him...and I've had numerous people say this to me...is that HE JUST NEVER STOPS. Seriously-most kids need some sort of down time-but that only happens when he sleeps. This quality is not only exhausting but endearing-and I know it will take him places in life that most will never go...
Most of the time I'm putting monthly updates of Addie Rose in here but it's time to give a little update about Jackson Daniel Havercamp.

- He still loves tractors and anything John Deere. Go figure. We spent this weekend in Carroll and rest assured Jackson was at the farm every second he could get there. Grandpa Weitl even brought in the four-wheeler so that he could ride it at any given moment. He's a pretty good driver too.
- He is starting to use the word totally in his sentences. Crack. me. up.
- He LOVES anything motorized. Trucks, diggers, backhoes, remote controls, you name it. That is Jackson for yah.
- He grinds his teeth when he sleeps at night.
- He is pretty one track minded and will repeat himself four hundred times to try and get what he wants. I'm assuming most kids are like that at this age... :)
- He's also the master negotiator.
- He's starting to become a little obsessed with soccer. He wants to wear his 'soccer nikes' everyday, along with his jersey.
- He has a nervous habit of pulling at his upper or bottom lip...
- He starts preschool for the second year tomorrow morning! (Four days a week)
- He often uses the phrase, "Oh shucks' mom"
- He asks daily (at least ten times) to ride his battery operated John Deere tractor.
- He can now ride a bike without his training wheels.
- He kicks left-footed.
- He says wants to be a doctor and farmer when he grows up.
- His enthusiasm lights up a room.
- He is not afraid to talk to anyone, to greet anyone with a hug or to share something exciting.
- He knows what he wants and is not afraid to stand on his own two feet.
- He loves, guides and cares for his little sister. (who he now shares a room with)
- He is the only one who can make her laugh on command.
- He is adventurous with little fear, but enough caution to keep himself safe. (Most of the time)
His bedtime story tonight was a reminiscing of how he came to this world. Gosh if you would have told me I'd have a kid like this I would have said your crazy. Never did I imagine to have a child with such charisma and spunk, or one who is as determined as he is. I know that I've had moments of frustration with him because of that but in the past year I've seen him become this confidant, independent, yet social little boy who just makes my heart swell. I'm so thankful for more time home to get to know him better and for a few more years with him before school sweeps him away all day.
Happy Birthday my handsome little boy. You are so special to all of us and we love you dearly. We are so thankful that we have the privilege to care for you on this earth as your parents.
