One Year Old

It has been such a whirlwind that I've almost a week behind bloggin' for this little one...not to mention I haven't done her or Jackson's four and one year old photo shoots.  Soon.  Very soon.

But in the meantime it's time to celebrate this little miss's first birthday.  Gosh it's so unoriginal but time goes so stinkin' fast.  I can't even believe this little miss is one year old.  How the HECK did that happen?  For real?

Adelyn Rose is the most beautiful little girl.  She is sweet yet determined.  She is soft and likes to snuggle yet has an 'edge' to her and can definitely stand her ground.  She loves music and LOVES to dance.  She's has the most beautiful blue eyes and her round face and smile just light up my world.  I can't even begin to describe the bond I feel between mother and daughter.  It sure is something special and it makes me so thankful to be able to experience having a little girl.  Here are some of Addie Rose's one year milestones:

• Standing solo.  Standing from a sitting position and walking around objects.
• Sleeping through the night.
• Saying hi (to the clerk at Schnucks and now to others too :) ), dada, momma, Jackson, baby, puppy, and ut-oh.
• Loves Jackson and Cooper.
• Loves blueberries!
• Now has six teeth.  Four on top and two on bottom.  Thus explains her cold this week.  
• Is starting become quite the little traveler!  Made a trip to St. Louis/Kansas City with us last week and did pretty well.  

My dear Adelyn Rose.  I just went online searching for a poem or quote that could capture my thoughts right now...and I realized that perhaps my heart is just more honest.  I look into those beautiful blue eyes of yours and I want everything for you.  I want you to know you are loved, to NEVER doubt your beauty, to be strong and full of life and to search for meaning.  And yet I know the world will bring hurt, doubt and fear...but I hold on to the truth that you know that you are loved.  Yes of course, my dear little one, your father and I love you beyond measure...but even more than our love is the love of a Father in heaven who offers so much more than we can.  In His arms you will know safety and security even beyond what I can provide you.  Cling to that.  My heart aches for you to know that, to shield you from the pain of this world, to maintain your beautiful innocence and purity and to give you that one simple truth.  I will pray that prayer for you constantly dear child...that you know you are loved, that you are beautiful and that you can rest secure in that.  Happy 1st birthday little love.  We are so thankful to have you in our lives.
