Six months

March 4th.  Holy Cow.  Six months ago today...at this time we were holding this little beautiful miracle in our homes, probably exhausted but overwhelmed with thanksgiving and joy.  What a day that was...and a what blessing she is.

This little girl has just stolen my heart.  I don't know what it is but I feel so bonded to her.  I can't stop kissing her.  Seriously it's a little ridiculous.  We have this little move where I go in to kiss her neck and then just start doing it over and over again...it's almost like a switch for her-she just stops moving and let's it happen...then slowly this peaceful smile wipes across her face...I'd like to think it's her realization that she is loved so so much.

And fun she is.  Here is what this six month older is up to.  :)  We have a doc appt on Thursday so we'll have 'specs' then...

  • Eating baby food.  And LOTS of it.  Whenever you start stirring it her mouth is already open, waiting for the first bite.  :)  Pears, peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, rice cakes, etc. etc.
  • Rolling all the way across the floor, and scooting backwards on the hard wood.
  • Screeching.  Really?  I thought that was just a Jackson thing...I hope that isn't indicative of another strong willed child.
  • Laughs.  At Jackson. A Lot.  Still idolizes him.
  • Is getting up LOTS through the night.  Daddy had her all weekend and he says she was up seven times every night...maybe she just knew mom was gone.  :)
  • No teeth yet.
  • Just starting to sit up-but not quite able to do so on her own.
  • Really really likes to be around people.  Another extrovert on our hands.  As long as you are somewhere she can see you she is good to go.
  • Still gets swaddled at night.  Has this head move.  You swaddle and put her nuk in...if she's ready she whips her head to the side.  Pretty classic Addie Rose.

Adelyn means 'noble'.  I've been thinking about a life verse for her and I think that I may have landed on one.  Who knows-perhaps it will change when she is older and I know more of her personality.  But I figured it would be something for her to strive for and it definitely uses the meaning of her name.  :)
Proverbs 31: 25-31
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
   she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
