2012
Well here we are...well into the New Year and I think it's time to catch up a little bit on what we have been up to. The biggest thing is that we SURVIVED Michael being in D.C. for two weeks. We had a lot of help along the way so thanks so anyone who reads this and was part of that. It really does take a village...
I spent some time back home with the kiddos while Michael was gone and of course Jackson was ecstatic to be 'on the farm' and with grandma and grandpa. I questioned whether it was worth all the packing and driving but was quickly reminded it was when my mom and sister gave me total respite on Sunday and Monday. Needed it for my soul-I'm not such a good single mom!
Michael's time in D.C. for his studies were amazing for him and it just affirmed that this program is/was the right decision. He's excited about writing his future papers and continuing with this cohort...such a blessing to feel like that was the right move. It will be exciting to see what God does with it.
And now we are getting ready to head to Florida! Tomorrow I meet my mom halfway to drop off our kiddos with her for six days. To say I'm excited is an understatement...so looking forward to sun and time with my man. It's been a long time coming.
Adelyn continues to just be a sweetie. She really does exude peace...she will just nuzzle up on you and be totally content and still being in your arms. Just love this little girl. She rolled over for the first time last Tuesday (Jan 17th) when my friend Nicole was watching her. Then she repeated in on Friday and again yesterday-so I think we are heading in that direction. :)
And Jackson is Jackson. Never a dull moment. He was quite good while Michael was gone and I was thankful for that. He is just turning into a good little boy so it's nice to see that all the 'redirecting' is paying off. The spastic moments are less and less and the sweet moments just increase by the day. He is also an incredible big brother which is super endearing.
I'll be posting again when we get back but just had to give a little update.

Who knew that a pan of rice could give us this many hours of entertainment in the winter? He LOVE IT. |
This is how I found her one morning. Had to come out and take a picture. :) |
