30 Days of Thanksgiving: Day 2
Well I suppose there will be days where I will be thankful for more than one thing. Today quite literally was EXHAUSTING. This was the first day since Addie has been born where I really felt the strain of two kids...and through it all I kept trying to think about what I was thankful for in the midst of that. And then I realized I'm thankful for tears from my kids, because it means I have two beautiful children, they are healthy, they are able to tell me their pain and struggle, and they are breathing. I remember waiting to hear Addie cry right after delivery. There was no sweeter sound and it seemed like eternity before I heard that wail to let me know she was breathing and okay. And when she did my heart swelled...ahh wouldn't it be nice to have that same emotion every time she cries now.
So that's what I did today...as I listened to both of them cry during melt down period tonight when I was home by myself with them and feeling helpless, I was thankful. Thankful that my life and moments are sometimes crazy but that they are that way because of these two incredibly beautiful children whose melt down moments are way less than the moments of joy and beauty that they give us. This whole 'thankful' thing definitely gave me more grace to deal with a difficult day today with them.
I'm also thankful for

I'm also thankful for
- catching up with an old friend and feeling like it hasn't been ten years since we live together.
- delicious chili and corn bread.
- Jackson's preschool, his teachers and his classmates. They just make my heart happy to drop him off there.
- the students at Edgewood who love on our kids. :)
Cute even when cranky
