August
We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new little one in our lives. Today Jackson prayer for her and said, "Come today," about four times. The doctor burst my bubble a little today when she told me that the fact that my water broke the first times doesn't necessarily mean I'll go early with her. If I would have just started labor without that the first time then yes, but not the case. AGHHH!!! Wish I would have known that a little sooner. :) So I've stopped planning to go early and am wrapping my mind around the fact that it could be Septemeber before we meet this little girl. To say I am anxious is an understatement-so much more understanding for women who go overdue.
Well here we are and a few things to celebrate with Jackson.
Well here we are and a few things to celebrate with Jackson.
- Our friends Kyle and Kenyune came to visit us last week. The boys had a ton of fun playing together and it was so nice to catch up.
- We also took a little 'babymoon' to the Miller's cabin at Lake Wisconsin. It was such a nice little getaway-a little different in the sense that it wasn't just Michael and I. We brought Jackson along and it turned out to be okay since he was Michael's company in the water, on the jetski and on the tube. I was happy to sit those out :) although I did go for a ride on the jetski that was amazingly smooth! It was such a great little escape to celebrate our family before we add another.
- Today he had his first whole day with going potty 100%. He is finally getting it!!
- One of his favorite things to say is, "Can you talk to me mom?" Meaning he is looking for attention.
- Jackson is back to taking good naps and sleeping through the night-good timing with the little one on the way...he seems so much happier too.
- He officially knows all the words of the song Chicken Fried. And it's pretty darn cute.
- He is really talking a ton. Full conversations. He can explain things in detail. It's pretty sweet and it totally changes him into a little boy.
- He's still staying "Huh" instead of Uh-huh to mean yes. Boy does that spark some interesting reactions.
- We have a pretty set routine. At least once (sometimes twice) a day we take his tractor to the park. He drives it up the hill and by the water tower and then drives it around. (He thinks he is really mowing the lawn) and then we go back him. It's become such a part of our routine it's hard to imagine when he is done with that toy or not interested in it anymore.
- We had a scare with Jackson this week (Thursday). I went for a walk with an old friend and we ended up walking the Ice Age Trail with Jackson and her son. Jackson was on his tractor in front of us and got around a bend in the road. He had been waiting at previous ones but when we got around the corner he was gone. No where in sight. Talk about panic mode. I started running the trails (9 months pregnant mind you) and two people on bikes started helping us. I called Michael (about four times) and he came to help us. He said he has never heard me so frantic. Each passing minute made my mind race with possibilities. The trail ended up at a very busy street. Agh-needless to say after about 15 minutes (which felt like an eternity) our little man was found by my friend Marissa, in the grass along the road, down a little hill with a tractor that was stuck and spinning out. I'll never forget this day-or how grateful I was to have found him. Praise God. Over and over again.
