The Gift of Life

It really is quite amazing. I took a test and knew I was pregnant over two months ago. We had our first ultrasound at 7 weeks which was amazing...but this past week at my appointment I got to hear the baby's heartbeat...and something about that was just absolutely miraculous. It made the beauty of this whole process so much clearer. Even as I find myself still struggling with the feelings of exhaustion and nausea I'm completely blessed and full of joy at this life that will enter our world this year.

It's been a busy couple of weeks. Last weekend Jackson and I made a trip to the farm because Michael had a full work weekend. We watched Cass wrestle and somehow Jackson managed to entertain himself for seven hours in a gym at a wrestling tournament. Cass got champion which was amazing! We are so proud of his wrestling season and it's been fun to be able to watch him a couple of time. Jackson cheered for Uncle Cass too! We got to see mom and dad's new house-which really does look so much different as Dad has been busy taking down the things they will be replacing. As hard as it is knowing that was our last official 'stay' on the farm, I know this new place will bring blessings for the future. And last of all we got to watch the Packers win the Superbowl. It was so nostalgic to watch that game...brought me right back to the 1997 win. They seriously looked so good and although I spent the second half away from the crowd watching the game in the basement because of nerves it was so much fun to be with the people who started me on being a fan when I was young.

This past weekend Michael was busy with an overnight lockout with middle school kids. They were up and out with them from 6:00pm to 6:00am so needless to say he has been recovering this weekend. It was a great night and lots of great energy all around.

I've been so pleased lately with how Jackson plays with other kids. He has his moments but overall I can't complain at how he listens or responds to discipline. He still is very finicky with his eating which we endure but beyond that I'm actually pleasantly surprised at his behavior. He becomes more and more vocal everyday, able to explain himself, ask questions like "Where does it come from?" and we are working on counting with him. He still loves his trucks, especially his monster truck which he needs to sleep with at night. Today he was down for his nap for about forty five minutes when I heard SCREAMS like he was seriously injured. I ran to his room only to find that he had gotten his monster truck stuck in the cab of the tractor. World ending. Lol. Never a dull moment with this kid.
