The West Coast
Sitting in Portland, Oregon at my old college roomies house. Getting ready for her big day, she is getting married tomorrow. Congrats to Jo and Jerry. It just hit me that she is getting married! Crazy and fun all at the same time. It's so great to be here with her family to celebrate.
Jackson is home with Michael (daddy) for these couple of days. I took him on girls weekend last weekend as we went to Des Moines and went wedding dress shopping with Kenzie. Uncle Dillon watched him and he was pretty good (besides a melt down in church). He went swimming and hung out at the mall. My taking his was a tradeoff for Michael getting him this weekend. They have already been to the baseball diamonds and to the zoo. Turns out Jackson's favorite animal is the prairie dog-go figure.
He has been surprising us everyday with more and more words. It's incredible. Uncle Dillon said that on Sunday they were in his dorm room and Dillon said, "I'm bored" only to have Jackson ready. I'm bored. Too funny. He really is iminating a lot of the words and phrases we are saying.
He LOVES to go outside and continues to throw a tantrum everytime he has to come in the house. We've found that the only way around it is to distract him with a toy.
This week was Spring Break in Madison so we have had some great time as a family. I continue to be amazed at the blessing of family. There isn't a day that goes by that a little moment doesn't stop me dead in my tracks and thank the Lord above for the blessings we have, whether it be Jackson running to greet me at the door, a new word he says, his awe and amazement at the littlest things, seeing the incredible father my husband has become or simply laughing histerically at the little things. . .like Jackson taking a fall and him getting up and saying, "I'm okay." (at least that is what Kenzie and Michael claim). Our praises to the Lord above for this wonderful life.
