March 2010

Wow what a month it has been! Jackson is officially 18.5 months old and he is growing SO quickly. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't look at each other and enjoy what he is doing. Whether it is a new word, a funny action of a quirky smile our hearts are full with the incredible love of a child.

This past month has been a crazy one. With the Edgewood retreat both Michael and I were VERY busy and finaly life is back to a normal pace. Because of the retreat, Jackson had visits from Grandma and Great Grandma Weitl and he was a little spoiled with Starburst jelly beans. We are putting a stop to that. :)

Michael's life has entered a new pace and it is quite manageable and wonderful all at the same time. While his ministry offers different challenges its much different to have the focus be in a few areas versus being spread so thin over so many. He has also started the practice of centering prayer which really has resulted in a change in him. It is a beautiful thing.

Aunt Kenzie is still living with us and enjoying her time spent with Jackson also. She keeps our lives someone sane with lots of help babysitting. It actually affords us a night out very often which is so nice and something we definately have appreciated this past year.

As of now, here are some of the things Jackson is doing:

  • Has a lot of words in his vocabulary. Here are some: car, truck, ball, basketball, baseball, football, birthday (he said this the other day after Michael wished Ryan a Happy Birthday on the phone), sun, snow, moon, banana, waffle, potty, naptime, drink, milk, block, boots, among some...

  • LOVES to play under the covers on the bed like its a tent in the morning time. His routine is that he gets up, comes into our room, and plays with daddy for twenty to thirty minutes every day.
  • Still his favorite toys are balls, blocks, and cars.

  • LOVES Cooper and has started pulling his tail which we are not encouraging.

  • LOVES books. He will randomly pull out books during the day and just ask to be read to. It's a very endearing quality about him.

  • Is loving the fact that the weather is changing and actually throws temper tantrums when he has to come back inside. We went for two walks downtown and he got to take his car that he got from the Erickson's to State Street. People loved it and so did he-he thought he was such a stud!

  • On the retreat for Edgewood, he got his hands on a microphone. BIG MISTAKE. He actually started talking/singing into it and dancing. Really?

  • LOVES to wear our shoes around the house.
